There’s music you listen to when you’re working out. And when you’re just waking up. And when you’re driving. Each occasion calls for a different type of music. That’s where custom playlists come in.
Setting up a playlist couldn’t be easier. Once you have iTunes installed and your library up-to-date, it only takes a few minutes to get all your music exactly where you want it.
Set up your iTunes playlists
With iTunes, you can set up, edit and remove playlists. It only takes a few seconds, and is super-easy to do.
Step One: create your playlist. First, go up and hit “File >New> Playlist.” Then you’ll choose a name for your new list, depending on what kind of songs you intend to add. Then all that’s left is for you to drag songs from your iTunes window into your playlist. Once you’ve added all the songs you want, click “done.” And then, your new playlist is ready to go.
Step Two: edit your playlist. Old songs get boring and new songs get addictive, which means that chances are you’ll want to edit your playlist at some point. It’s simple – all you have to do is click the “Add To” button above the playlist you want to add to, and drag the songs into the list. Super easy.
Step Three: delete and move songs. All you have to do to delete a song off a playlist is choose the song you want to remove and hit the delete key. Remember: deleting a song in a playlist does NOT delete it in your iTunes library. If you want to change the order of songs, you can drag and drop them to change up the order.
That’s it – that’s all there is to it. Now you can create a playlist for Christmas, or the 4th of July, or Cinco de Mayo, a concert, mowing the lawn, the 80s, the 90s, a road trip, a plan ride, a birthday party, a rainy day…..
